Breakfast looked a little like this today… GOOD OLD TRUSTY! Egg whites, 1 egg, turkey bacon with green beans. On the side, wheat toast with a little garlic infused olive oil. YUM! I love toast…
*Quick Tip for Garlic Olive Oil– Chop up a few garlic cloves, throw them in a sauce pan (medium heat) with a tablespoon of olive oil. Let them turn color and turn the heat to low. Add a half cup more of olive oil and let the garlic do its thing. Take it off and let it cool. It gives the olive oil a great flavor. Sometimes I add hot pepper flakes too!
I’m so excited. This weekend I had the opportunity to dive into my Intuitive Eating book and it is such a good read!! As you know I’m on a mission to improve my relationship with food. 🙂 I’ve started by taking a break from some of my counting tools. Thats right the tools I’ve depended on for the last few years.
Now don’t get me wrong! I think there is a definite time and place for counting. For me currently, it just isn’t that time. WooHooo, that’s a good thing. I’ve deleted MyFitnessPal app and threw my scale in the closet …under the tools. I’m not lifting that box! 🙂
I’ve started trying to pay attention to my body’s cues. Am I hungry? How hungry? Am I full? How full? It’s so interesting to listen to my body because I’ve ignored these signals for quite some time… and get this...I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW I WAS IGNORING THEM. So I’m growing and learning. It will take time I’m sure!!
